The American Chemical Society (ACS) is the world's largest scientific society and one of the world's leading sources of authoritative scientific information. A nonprofit organization, chartered by Congress, ACS is at the forefront of the evolving worldwide chemical enterprise and the premier professional home for chemists, chemical engineers and related professions around the globe.

The Brazosport ACS Local Section is aligned to this mission and aims to be a presence in the Brazoria County community in the areas of STEM, sustainability and professional development. Our team is largely represented by employees in Industry, and advocates of the sciences. Through volunteering, networking and participation in community public forums we look to promote the broader chemical enterprise and grow our members, all the while, supporting young aspiring scientists and educators in our community.

Reminder: High School Student Scholarship Applications open!

Applications are open for the 2026 High School Student Scholarships. Deadline is April 1st, 2026. The ACS Brazosport Section is pleased to announce the call for nominations for two $1,000 scholarships designated for graduating high school seniors from Brazoria, Victoria, Wharton, Jackson, Calhoun, and Matagorda County. These scholarships recognize students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement in chemistry and who intend to pursue further studies in

Little Hands, Big Science: Making Snow in Texas

Join us for a family FUN snow day at Brazosport Museum of Natural Science (400 College Blvd., Clute, TX 77531)! Presented by representatives from the Brazosport section of the American Chemistry Society, the event will include a “cool” chemistry demonstration all about snow before kids in attendance will have the opportunity to make their own winter wonderland!
