Excellence in Science Teaching

Excellence in Science Teaching Award Nominations Closed for 2024

The ACS Brazosport Section proudly sponsors the Excellence in Science Teaching Award. This award recognizes High- and Middle School Teachers that have demonstrated an outstanding dedication and a high degree of professionalism as a Science Teacher.

ELIGIBILITY:

Nominees must be actively engaged in teaching science courses in middle school or high school. A nominee must be a current middle school or high school teacher in Brazoria County, which includes the following ISDs, Alvin, Angleton, Brazosport, Columbia-Brazoria, Damon, Danbury, Pearland and Sweeny. The nomination should demonstrate as many of the following:

  • Quality of teaching.

  • The nominee's ability to challenge and inspire students.

  • Engagement in extracurricular work to increase interest of students in STEM fields.

  • Willingness to stay up-to-date in the field.


REQUIRED NOMINATION COMPONENTS:

  • Nomination letter.  

  • 1 or 2 Supporting letters.

  • CV or Resume (include list of honors/awards, professional activities and evidence of service).
