Call for College Student Scholarship Nominations

The Brazosport Section of the American Chemical Society is soliciting nominations for the 2026 Community College Student Scholarship, which will be presented to a student who has demonstrated satisfactory academic achievements, extracurricular activities, honors and community service.

A nominee must be a:

Resident of, or attending a community college located in Brazoria, Victoria, Wharton, Jackson, Calhoun, or Matagorda County
Demonstrated satisfactory academic achievement (minimum 2.5 GPA)
Enrolled as at least part-time (at least 3 credit hours or one course) at a community college in the Brazoria County
Nominees are not required to be an ACS Student Chapter members to be eligible for this award

The award consists of a $500 scholarship, a one-year student membership to the American Chemical Society, and a certificate presented at the annual Brazosport ACS Awards Banquet.

Nominations packet must include the following:

The completed nomination form. The application form can be found on our website (Community College Student Scholarship | ACS Brazosport)
Resume (include list of honors/awards and additional evidence of academic achievements)
Academic transcripts
1 letter of support (letter of support can be obtained from anyone familiar with the nominee’s achievements, with preference given to course instructors, academic advisor and mentors)

To be eligible, please submit the complete nomination package directly to pboopalachandran@dow.com by 11:59 PM CT on November 30^th, 2026.
